Local Real Estate Management Firm Earns Professional Accreditation
On April 6, 2010- Two of Horizon Realty Management’s employees, Beth Carozza and Steve
Arnold, joined the elite group of individuals in Jacksonville to become EPA Certified Renovators
under the EPA Renovation Repair and Maintenance Program (RRP Rule.) This rule requires
all renovations to homes, apartments, schools, and daycares built pre-1978 with lead based
paint be directed by Certified Renovators. Both Steve and Beth work with owners of apartments
built in the pre-1978 time frame and feel this certification is critical to the management and
maintenance of these apartment communities. Steve Arnold says, “It is always good to stay
abreast of new legislation and act on it accordingly. This allows us to understand the
importance of proper handling of these materials in the work place for the safety of our team as
well as the residents. This is not only an asset for our employees, the residents we serve, but
the property owners as well.” On or after April 22, 2010 no firm working in target housing or
child occupied facilities, where lead based paint will be affected, may perform, offer or claim to
perform renovations without Firm Certification from the EPA. Horizon is proud to announce that
